The Need
Currently, 40 percent of low-wage workers are not offered any type of health insurance coverage, compared to 92 percent of higher-wage families.

 

  1. Recent news articles have criticized mini-medical, limited benefit, or supplemental health insurance plans primarily because of their low benefit options. They state that many of these plans have little or no coverage for preventive care and claim most employers don't contribute toward premiums.
